At Repair-Bots Online we use a well known and respected peer to peer remote desktop sharing software program which is designed with a 128 bit data encrpytion to ensure a secure connection. The most secure connection currently available. (Note: It is very important the computer which needs service is connected to the internet and is powered on. Otherwise your expert will not be able to assist you. You will also need to provide a valid email address and phone number so that your expert can contact you).
Getting Started: The first step before using the CrossLoop application is to install it. This section provides information on the requirements for installation and a step by step guide that may help you through the installation process:
Requirements Operating Systems: At this time CrossLoop works only on Windows operating systems Windows 2000 and newer, including Vista. You can use CrossLoop to connect from any Windows computer to another Windows computer in that range as long as they are both connected to the internet. Crossloop is currently porting CrossLoop to Mac and Linux and hope to have it ready in the next few months.
Admin rights: In order to use the CrossLoop application you must be logged in as an administrator of your computer. If you do not have administrator rights you will receive an error message:
The install process: Follow these steps to install CrossLoop: Click here to begin the download process.
1. If you are using Internet Explorer you will be prompted to click on the yellow information bar at the top of your browser. Click here for an image of the information bar.
2. In the window's security warning, select "Run;
3. When prompted, select "Run" again; (Note: When using FireFox you will only receive one prompt to run).
4. Select your preferred language for the CrossLoop application 5. Click "Next" to start the install process 6. Read the agreement, select "I accept the agreement", and press "Next" 7. Choose whether you want a desktop / quick launch icon 8. Press "Install" to confirm 9. Select whether you want to launch the program and click "Finish" 10. After the installation has finished, you can open CrossLoop at any time by clicking the icon on your desktop, clicking on the tray icon, or by opening the program from the start menu. 11. Once opened, press share and give the code to your technician, then press connect. This will take a couple of minutes.
12. You will then be asked to confirm that you want to allow the technician to control your computeras shown in the image below. You will then see the technician as he/she begins work to repair your problem
Installing to a different location: The CrossLoop application has a fixed install path in order to prevent people from installing on removable drives as that may lead to performance problems.
Over install (installing without uninstalling an older version): There is no need to uninstall your older version of CrossLoop; you can install the current version over the old one.
